What is it?
This surgery consists of performing an abdominoplasty that extends circumferentially around the entire trunk (lowerbodylift), that is, the scar from the abdominoplasty is continued bilaterally along the back, extending to the gluteus groove. This scar pattern makes it possible to remove all excess skin from the lower trunk (abdomen, flanks and back), resulting in a substantial contour improvement and lifting of the gluteal region tissues.
When is it indicated?
With the increasing social emphasis on health and well-being, significant weight changes have become more common, either through bariatric surgery or by adopting a healthier lifestyle. While massive weight loss has significant health benefits, it can lead to substantial body changes in multiple areas (abdomen, buttocks, arms, thighs, breasts, face, and neck), greatly impacting self-esteem. Following a significant weight loss, volume loss and tissue sagging occur in various body regions, accompanied by severe skin laxity and excess skin, particularly in the lower trunk region. In such situations, a lower body lift is the most suitable surgical treatment.
Can it be combined with other surgeries?
This surgery is often combined with other procedures such as a thigh lift, arm lift, or breast surgery to achieve comprehensive results.
